My Passion to Write Poetry

I’ve had a passion to write poetry since the age of seven. It brings out emotions and unexpected twists that make it exciting and enjoyable to read. When someone reads a poem, they enter into the life of it. Similes and metaphors bring visualization; true stories bring adventure; scary poems keep you in suspense. Poetry is not a superficial type of writing, but a deep, heartfelt piece, and that’s why I love it. If I’m mad, I’ll write an angry poem, and if I’m excited, I’ll write a joyful poem. Writing about your emotions in poetry lifts the weight off your back and leaves you as a renewed person.
But through it all, I give my credit to the Lord. God is the one who breathes the words through me, into the pencil and onto the paper. He makes the ideas sprout into my head. My gift is nothing without God.
