Lightning

The blindiing flashes of light
strike down onto
the light pole.
Three long deadly
flickers,
then the lights go out.

Everything's dark.  You stand
frozen. Even if you
jumped, you would stop
in mid air.

The darkness speaks with
terror.  It sees
the fear in your eyes.
Your mom brings flashlights
up.  They look like evil eyes.
