Don’t Miss the National River of Words Poetry Contest

The NATIONAL RIVER OF WORDS POETRY CONTEST DEADLINE is December 1, 2009 . Patricia Schlutt, the Grand Prize winner in Category 111 in 2008, hails from right here in Grand Rapids . She not only won an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. for herself and a parent but read her winning entry at
the Library of Congress. Established by former U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize winner Robert Haas, the contest is open to elementary, intermediate and high school youth. Check out the rules for yourself http://www.riverofwords.org/contest/index.html . It even has a Michigan version of the contest, and our local writers have been winners in it, as well.
